Being a Domestic Goddess

Sometimes I make up recipes, sometimes I use the recipe found on a bag of chocolate chips, or on the internet.  But, sometimes I use cookbooks.  One book in particular is "How to be a Domestic Goddess," by Nigella Lawson.

How to Be a Domestic Goddess: Baking and the Art of Comfort Cooking

I love this book.  There isn't a single recipe I've used in this book that I didn't love!  Nigella Lawson has a way of making food sound so sinfully good that you want to bake it, eat it and share it with other people (or not, they're that good!)

I first heard of Nigella Lawson on the Food Network when I saw her show Nigella Feasts.  My first thought was "My God, this woman is gorgeous...My God, this food looks DELICIOUS!"  After that first episode I was a Nigella fan.

The recipes in "How to be a Domestic Goddess"are organized like most cook books.  Cakes, cookies, Christmas goodies, etc.  This book also includes beautiful photography.  We eat with our eyes first, and seeing a photo that looks that good urges you to create that for yourself!  Look at the cupcake on the cover!  That looks delicious, and believe me, it's as tasty as it looks.  She also includes bits of her personality within the recipe's instructions.  Nigella Lawson was a journalist before she became a food star, so it's nice to see that creativity within her food writings.

If your interested in finding out more about Nigella Lawson, her bio on Food Network can be found here.
